Honors College Short Response

Thank you for your interest in the UMW Honors Program. The Honors Program provides a unique community and opportunities to incorporate interdisciplinary learning, experience innovative classrooms, give back to our community through service learning projects, better understand yourself as a leader, and participate in extended undergraduate research and creative projects.

We all have distinctive topics for which we have developed passion or expertise. If you were to give a 15-minute speech or a TED talk, what would your topic be and what would you most want your audience to take away? In your essay, you may either describe the speech you would give or convey your message by writing the introduction you would deliver in such an address. In either case, be as specific as possible about your topic. Your essay must be your own work. Do not use another writer‘s work, and do not use Artificial Intelligence software (ChatGPT, Bard, etc.) to write your essay.
